Discovering the Tőkési Danube Branch is a unique experience, but the tourists are requested to move along by the water quietly, carefully and in small groups in order not to disturb animals, especially rural birds. The best views are available from the water surface, but water transportation is currently forbidden by strict rules because the Tőkési Branch is the habitat of many plants and animals – this is where they obtain their food and, also, where they reproduce. Boating in groups or individually would disturb the peace of the local wildlife.
Nowadays, on the one hand, to save the wildlife of Tőkési Danube Branch, a new protection programme is under preparation, but, on the other hand, at the same time they are looking for a way to open water transportation on certain sections in certain periods, mainly around the villages of Dunatőkés, Vásárút (Trhová Hradská) and Nyárasd (Topoľníky).
There are field roads on the two sides of the Tőkési Danube Branch, and the embankments have footpaths, walking through which one can quietly engross in and admire the surrounding nature. It is also possible to travel on this path by bicycle. Also, we can approach the waterfront here and there where we can quietly admire the watercourse and the forests located on the banks. At certain sections, we can find density characteristic to rainforests, which are filled with the sounds of animal movement and the sounds of frogs and birds. The field roads and footpaths join the roads leading to Dunatőkés, Vásárút or Nyárasd. In these towns, the tourists are provided with the goods and services of inns, restaurants and shops. In Nyárasd, there is a thermal bath as well.
